From 28th December to 13th January the Czech airlines operated 184 additional flights from the main Russian airports to bring 20 000 pax. New Year programs in Prague happened to be much in demand this year, with a 200% sales increase compared to New Year 2012. This was all the more appreciated by the Czechs that the Russians stayed longer. When all the Western European left back home on 2nd January, the Russian stay another 10 days and, as usual, they spent by person twice as much as the other nationalities that is 3,700 CZK kron (145 EUR) a day. Russian travel trade stakeholders also confirm these good news, adding that most of the New Year programs were sold out by end of November. According to official statistics, the Czech Republic welcome 200,000 Russian visitors during 4Q 2012 which should give a 25% increase for 2012 compared to 2011.
